Abstract Paso

I've been struggling to define something lately. I don't know exactly what but I know it is something of significance. I recently parted ways with the cover band and therefore have a lot more time to continue working on my art. There is a local exhibition coming up in July which I might just participate in. The theme is anything to do with the fourth of July or the founding of America. I also plan on having my own semi-private exhibition at my home. There is ample room due to the fact that I don't have a lot of furniture right now. The other night I almost became lost in one of my abstract ideas. It was ... interesting.

Here are eleven new small abstract paintings I created a few days ago. I've also been doing a lot of sketching but there are only a few coherent ideas so far. Perhaps I'll post some of them later in the week.

Her Car (sketch)

I am still without internet access in my new place but I have been able to keep busy with my band and other artistic endeavors. Just yesterday I purchased a new sketch book and have been making sure to draw as much as possible. I've noticed that when I draw a real subject that is in front of me then the sketch itself automatically has a sense of "realness" to it. Anyway, here is a short video of the first sketch I did yesterday. It is of a neighbor's car. It is kind of small and off center but it'll do for a sketch. :-)

Isolated Apathy

Well, I am all moved into my new place. It is quite spacious and I no longer have to deal with any annoying roommates. It also happens to be located just one block behind a local shopping plaza. The only bad thing is that I no longer have free access to wifi. I will probably limit my posts to once or twice a week for a while.

On another note, I took a a few days off from painting but have already made a return. I painted one new abstract last night. I have titled it "Displaced Apathy."
