I painted these two careless looking figures. I've been making an effort at improving my figure drawing and painting skills but I still want to make sure my own style shines through as well.

Ain't a Song (Series)

 I painted these three in somewhat of a painstaking manner but I do like the end result. I originally wanted them to have a lot more texture and fluidity but they are what they are. I've already sold the first one on ebay.

December Creativity

 Hello gents and ladies or whomever happens to be reading this. I don't know exactly who has or hasn't been frequenting my website but neither matters much. My Thanksgiving weekend went by faster than the time it took me to eat three helpings of turkey and stuffing. Mmmm turkey. I've been in the middle of a somewhat creative renewal this holiday season and all is going according to plan. I've finally started to paint on real canvas which I'm finding adds a lot more life to the colors I use and makes it easier to stretch and hang. I'm also busy preparing for recording a full length demo with my band, we already have the studio time booked for the next couple of weeks and will most likely spend a good month or so on the whole mixing/editing/mastering process. And of course I am always busy writing my eclectic poetry and circumstantial stories.

Foul Blue Accuser

Still working on my short stories and other novel ideas. I recently came across some publishing companies that look promising. I suppose my focus has shifted a bit from art to writing but I am still painting as much as always.

Here are two recent abstract paintings. I used acrylic paint, tissue paper and a thick gloss.

Distant

My artwork is piling up ever so gradually. Might try to sell them off at an upcoming garage sale. I've gone through so many stages in such a short amount of time. I'm still struggling a little with accepting my own work and the generic randomness that I tend to explore. I also recently painted a portrait of someone whom I am infatuated with but it appears she does not like it very much. I don't know whether I should be hurt by her response or not. I guess I'll just take it with a grain of salt.

I've also been working on completing three different novels/stories of mine. For some reason I kept putting my writing on hold but now I am determined to see it through. I don't think I will post any of it online right away. At least not until I've had it read by some publishers.

In any case, here are two abstract paintings I just painted a few hours ago. They are titled "Distant" and "Distant II."

Eleven

I've added a new painting technique to my repertoire. The other day I was gonna' paint some plastic forks and adhere them to the canvas and then apply more paint on top of them to create some kind of great textural effect. But before I could do it I somehow mistakenly started using one of the forks as a paintbrush and then I noticed it created an awesome effect of its own. By using a fork instead of a paintbrush I began to feel much more free in my technique. It somehow creates the illusion of texture within the paint. It looks better in person than in pictures but here is a pic of the first painting which had the honor of benefitting from this technique. I titled it simply "Eleven."

I haven't been up to much else other than re-watching the Jackson Pollock movie and the boxed set of the HBO series Rome. And also reading Love in the Time of Cholera. :-)

Nuts To That

I sold four of my paintings this week. It felt good to see them find a good home. I am now more motivated than ever to continue creating. I have decided that once I have a set number of pieces I will then sell them all off at my own art exhibition. I got in touch with a local gallery owner but he wanted me to first create a professional quality portfolio before he would allow me to exhibit in his gallery. Which would cost at least $300. So, I said "Nuts to that! I'll just have the exhibition at my home studio."

Since then I've literally made painting my full-time occupation. It is really starting to become second nature to me. With that in mind... here are some recent pieces. :-)

Over Ripe

I consider this one to be a prelude to all other still life/figurative paintings of mine that have yet to be created.

Abstract Paso

I've been struggling to define something lately. I don't know exactly what but I know it is something of significance. I recently parted ways with the cover band and therefore have a lot more time to continue working on my art. There is a local exhibition coming up in July which I might just participate in. The theme is anything to do with the fourth of July or the founding of America. I also plan on having my own semi-private exhibition at my home. There is ample room due to the fact that I don't have a lot of furniture right now. The other night I almost became lost in one of my abstract ideas. It was ... interesting.

Here are eleven new small abstract paintings I created a few days ago. I've also been doing a lot of sketching but there are only a few coherent ideas so far. Perhaps I'll post some of them later in the week.
