Impressionistic

 I've really been painting a LOT lately. All week long I've just been hitting the canvas first thing in the morning and not stopping until late in the evening. So far it appears to be paying off because now some of my friends have taken an interest in my work and have agreed to purchase a couple of my paintings. Today, I figured I'd take the day off from painting and allow my mind to rest. Of course, I do still have a ton of ideas running through my head.

Here is one recent painting of mine titled "First Impression." It is my own version of an impressionistic seascape. I spent a good four hours on layering different colors for the building, water and sky.

Statement

Created these with oil pastels on printer paper. I like the colors I used but the shapes are not quite identical to the ones I imagined. But I do find they are growing on me.

Primitive One

A new abstract painting I painted last night. I have titled it "Primitive One" because it reminds me of the kind of shapes and glyphs that cavemen and ancient peoples would paint on the walls of caves and tombs. I used watercolors and acrylics on a USPS box. Right now I am limited on my supplies so I've found that boxes are a very inexpensive canvas. I can get them for free at my local post office. An artist must do what he can with the materials that are available to him.

Going Bananas

 Twenty bananas all lined up in a row. Well, not an exact row but close enough. I drew them with permanent markers on smooth Bristol board.

Metropolis

I drew some adjacent buildings with permanent markers. I titled this piece "Metropolis." It measures 9 inches by 12 inches. Can you tell which is right-side up? I don't think even I can.

Still More Life

 I drew these two still life concepts this morning. I used permanent markers and some watercolor markers. They measure 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches. I'm starting to get used to drawing a lot more fruit.
